Art and Conversations recently announced its collaboration with Community ZA as its new exhibition space in Windermere, Durban. The project which launched in the midst of the pandemic in November 2020 in Gqeberha is now expanding its operations to Durban to support and give opportunity to emerging artists in KZN an alternative space to exhibit their work and to connect with other creatives in the city.

Community ZA has always been a home to local creatives and has an aim to be a space that nurtures creativity, and explores what it means to be a community by supporting local businesses and expanding the creative space in Durban.

Art & Conversations will continue to present a series of pop-up art exhibitions which will now open for viewing for a longer period than the previous exhibitions, and will also be launching a series of talks about issues affecting the growth and sustainability of artists in South Africa. A new exhibition opens towards the end of August and an invitation has been extended to local emerging artists and curators who wish to make use of the exhibition space and become part of the community as the project continues, " we are excited that the project has made developments despite the challenges we face to keep it running. Community ZA is an incredible space and we hope that many other creatives not just artists only, take on the opportunity and make it their home" - commented founder and project coordinator, Zimkhitha Xwashu.

Art & Conversations eGqeberha launch, 24 November 2020 at the Atheneaum in Gqeberha.
