From a design competition to the global stage

Ziyanda Nkunjana is a 25 years old fashion creative from uMthatha in the Eastern Cape, now currently based in Johannesburg. She has been in the fashion industry for 7 years now, her journey started at a fashion design competition she entered and she has since never looked back.

One of her highest moments as a fashion designer was when she showcased at XAFI (African Fashion International Fast Track Designers) "that for me was one of the precious times of my career". Ziyanda has also made it to one of the world's popular and most influential fashion magazine Vogue Italia in 2019.

Her lowest moment was when Innani; a brand she had for a year did not work out, "having to let it go was a difficult time in my life".

What Ziyanda loves the most about being a designer is the fact that she can actually make clothes, she describes it as fascinating. Her philosophy of design is "home". She draws her inspiration from everything, people, places and events.

Her future aspiration is to be a fulfilled billionaire, as'mane sifeste!!
