I almost did not write this blog, I had thought about it but I was so hesitant, honestly a feature with Laduma would be a wish coming true, that would be the real manifestation for my blog, because one of the factors that influenced me to start writing is my love for fashion amongst other things and if you know me well, you will definitely know just how much I stan Laduma Ngxokolo. I have met him twice at the Design Indaba conference in 2019 and 2020 in Cape Town, with over excitement I barely said any of the things that I always thought I would ask him or say to him because I have always wanted to meet him, what a humble person. His latest collection; 'INGUMANGALISO IMISEBENZI KA THIXO/GOD'S WORK IS MARICULOUS' for the New York Fashion Week 2020 which showed this past week has left everyone in awe and talking about the fashion giant from the Eastern Cape, South Africa, definitely a great inspiration, a great influence of the culture and one of the people we should be proud of as a Nation. A definite epitome of all the possibilities for a black child and a great coincidence that we are celebrating Heritage Month in South Africa, as I have mentioned in my previous article that our heritage and culture plays a very big role in inspiring creativity and art as African people and we see this through his work, through his brand that he took pride in his own culture, his own heritage and people and he took it to the world, truly showing us how great it is to embrace our uniqueness and identity which is all our gift from God. I for one have no other choice but to stan. CHOSI
